Alcare's Poems
Windows to Wonder
Sitting before the fireplace
In the quiet of our den
Lovingly looking into each other's face.
I--Remembering what the past had been,
Before this once lone tiger met you.
But with a little push, fate sprung me free
To give my heart and to my heart be true!
Now, the world I can truly see—
Lost in the mystery of your eyes
Swimming with the twinkle of firelight—
You are the wolf to whom I pledge my heart.
Shall I vow with bended knee
While others may witness and take part?
In the den we kiss so tenderly…
